Disinfect.space is a company more focused on the cleanliness and hygiene of our customers facilities as opposed to being “everything to everyone”. That’s not us, we want to ensure we are experts in what we do, we won’t sell you fasteners, food containers, or other things that are a main line with “jan/san as an add-on”.
So often today we see companies deciding to try to stretch their budget dollars by skimping on the cleanliness of facilities by doing any one, or a combination of the following:
- RFP for the cheapest price regardless of product quality or efficacy
- Allow their hired contract cleaning company to chose the products they use to clean and don’t monitor how much they use, the dilutions or quality resulting in what comes down to a surface clean but not a deep clean to your facility and usually no real disinfection of surfaces.
- Count on suppliers that are experts in other fields to supply their jan/san because it seems so simple and readily available and “what the heck, we can cut out a vendor and have it put all on one bill”
There are more reasons but these seem to always be the ones I hear about, and those facilities are usually the ones I found needed the most help but always tell me “it’s just janitorial and sanitation, we’ll just keep doing it the way we’ve always done it”. Well, times are changing and we need to take our works space health more seriously.
With Coronavirus, and before it MERS, SARS, Ebola, and a number of different viruses and Flu strains, I really hope more companies take their janitorial and sanitation more seriously. It truly is a Health & Safety issue, not just a nuisance expense. In most cases we can do a facility audit and create a plan for companies to be able to clean their facilities more effectively, many times with less products, and typically at a lower cost than they are currently doing it.
